Prenatal and Infant Groups

Early Learning Infant Group
Infant Group is a weekly drop-in for parents and parents-to-be, offered from the time you are pregnant until the time your child is crawling. You will have a chance to talk with other parents about you and your baby, child development, baby routines, and behaviours.  Regular visits from our Community Health Nurses and other community organizations will connect you with the supports available for growing families.

Get out, have a meal, and meet new people. All moms and dads of new babies, as well as pregnant women, are welcome in this group.

Teens Loving Children (T.L.C.)
T.L.C. is offered twice a week as a drop-in time for pregnant or parenting teens (23 years and under). This group is a great opportunity to get together with other young parents and their babies. Come for great food, crafts, discussions about child development and parenting, and guest speakers from community organizations. Individual support is available for anyone in need of help with referrals, school, housing, and any other issues or concerns.

Childcare is available for older children, as well as transportation and a meal.

Baby’s Coming Prenatal Class
Join a prenatal group to learn about taking care of yourself and your baby before birth. We will discuss how to best do this during pregnancy, including topics like nutrition, labor, delivery, infant care, and breastfeeding. These groups are a great opportunity to get answers to your questions and concerns as well. Dads-to-be, partners, and other support persons are welcome – we will talk about their role in all of this too!

This is a fun way to get ready for your baby and meet new people. We provide a healthy meal at every meeting.

Breastfeeding Peer Support Program (BFF)
Open to pregnant and breastfeeding families, this is a drop-in program led by our volunteer peers.  Join BFF at one of the drop-in events or connect with a peer to find out more about feeding babies. Trained peers will be on hand to share evidence-based practices with you, offering support, education, and conversation throughout the experience. This is a great opportunity to meet others and share stories and information about breastfeeding. Snacks are provided.
