Practical Assistance
This program offers practical advice, information referral, and connects individuals and families with appropriate resources within the community. Some of the most commonly sought after assistance includes:

  • Rental and utilities arrears
  • Obtaining fuel and oil
  • Applying for the Ontario Energy Support Program [PDF]
  • Emergency food and food bank referrals
  • Dental and eyeglass coverage issues
  • Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Plan issues
  • Lost, stolen, or never obtained identification
  • Transportation and moving costs
  • Winter clothing (Clothes for Kids, Operation Warm Feet, etc)
  • Christmas food hamper and toy campaign referrals
  • Advocacy and outreach
  • Referrals for affordable housing, daycare, etc

Kingston Dental Coalition
A community-based coalition committed to ensuring that everyone has access to dental care, regardless of age, circumstance, or income.  The coalition has built awareness about the need for increased funding for dental care and has fought for access to dental care for those living in poverty.  Anyone is welcome to join the coalition, which meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the North Kingston Community Health Centre.
